Our current position
SupportCheck does not currently use advertising, social-media, personalisation or behavioural-analytics cookies. We do not place an “accept all” banner because there are no optional tracking cookies to accept. If that changes, optional technologies will be blocked until a user makes a valid choice, and rejecting them will be as easy as accepting them.
Cookies we may use

Local storage on your device
Some features use browser local storage rather than cookies. This remembers your chosen language, action-plan items, completed ticks, watched supports, saved estimates, selected council and whether outcome feedback was already sent. It does not need your name or PPS number and is not automatically shared with a council or employer.
These records remain on that browser until you use SupportCheck's clear controls, assisted mode clears the relevant session, or you clear site data in your browser. A transfer file is created and imported locally; SupportCheck does not upload it.
Offline cache
A service worker may keep copies of public pages and site files in your browser cache so basic information remains available on a weak or absent connection. This is functional storage on your device. It is removed by clearing the site's stored data in your browser.
How to control or delete storage
- Use “Clear saved ticks” or the relevant clear option in SupportCheck.
- Sign out of the staff area to end the active staff session.
- Use your browser's privacy settings to view, block or delete cookies, local storage and cached site data for supportcheck.ie.
Blocking strictly necessary staff cookies means staff sign-in cannot work. Clearing local storage removes saved progress from that device. Public information pages remain available.
External websites
When you follow a link to a council, government department or another official service, that site may use its own cookies. Its notice and controls apply from that point; SupportCheck does not control them.
